A Garden Party with Friends

Happy 90th Birthday, Juanita!!
We attended the nicest birthday celebration last Saturday honoring our dear friend Juanita H. Her children, Leon, Jim, and Georgia assisted by grandchildren and long time friends hosted the event. I could write pages and pages and still not express what a very kind and loving family they all are. Hugs to them all.
The "garden party" was held in the 1st Baptist Church's fellowship hall. The guest sat at several round tables, covered with white table clothes, roses petals, and chocolates with "Happy Birthday, Juanita. In the center of each table was a gorgeous silk flower arrangement in white china containers. Colorful "Happy Birthday" banners and blooming potted plants were throughout the room. Fresh flowers graced the buffet table, a very full of everything yummy buffet table I might add. It was lovely, just lovely.
Granddaughter Kimber and great-granddaughter Cayman had on the cutest aprons. They seemed to be everywhere tending to everyone needs. I laughed and told my very good friend Georgia I was glad I wasn't a "bestest" friend so I wouldn't be ask to help in the kitchen. That group were busy little bees.
The birthday girl welcomed everyone sitting in a comfy chair, her throne, of course. She was so cute, dressed in pink with a tiara. Later she ate at a table surrounded with kin, including her sister. I was sitting where I could watch her, she was enjoying every minute. Kimber asked us to be sure to have our pictures taken with Juanita before we left.
There was a slideshow running of Juanita and her family on two large screens. It was fun to see the young mother Juanita with her kids. Yes, this was similar to the slide shows that are popular at funerals. But wasn't this so much better to have a celebration of life and memories now?

Jim, Georgia, Leon
I have written about my very good friend Georgia before in my stories. Here is a picture I "borrowed" from Facebook of Georgia and her brothers Leon and Jim. Thank-you guys for sharing your Mama.
