"Inch by Inch, Life's a Clinch" is a popular saying by Robert Schuller. My version is "Click by Click, Learning the Tricks". Today Mr. Bruce learn a new trick, he ordered shoes online from Zappos. Actually, I worked the keyboard and he read the info and told me what to click on, but he did the deciding. He had never been on the Zappos site before and was quite fascinated by all the stuff it has on. And very overwhelmed by the number of brands and styles. We even watched a couple of videos of the shoe demos.
At one point he was deciding which width to order, and I said let's call customer service and ask questions. I clicked on the customer service number, and to Bruce's surprise the computer rang and customer service answered. I must admit I am still trying to figure Skype out myself.
Mr. Bruce likes to brag that Campbell 66 Express had one of the first computer systems in the trucking business years ago. But he never kept up with the PC's on the modern world. He got his first PC in late 1997, still isn't on it much.
Bruce has a computer downstairs, mainly for using Word for letters and reports, plus reading his email once a week. Last summer I ordered a new ergonomic keyboard only to find out I couldn't use it. I wanted to send it back and get a refund. Bruce hates returning things so is learning to use it. He's a fast typist, this thing is slowing him down. Silly old man is determined though.
I have teased him that he needs to get on Twitter. Don't think that is going to happen. However, he does keep up with many Twitter friends with me. He even asks about how everyone is doing.
Speaking of clicking on a computer, Bruce and I met online. Story is here
