About this blog:
I am using this to post links and articles about people over 60. What I don’t mean it to be is “old people” information. So many times when I put the term
“seniors” into a search engine I get nursing home, funeral homes, etc results. If I search the terms “retirement” or “retiree”, up pops financial info. (Plus zillions of people and companies that are financial planners. Haven’t they heard that seniors have already made their decisions?)
So what is a good name for us? If boomers are “born between the years ’46-64’, what are people born '30-45’? We are too young for "old age", much less over the hill. One online group is using the term “ThirdAge”, but again I think the site is focusing on baby boomers. Eons has a nice mixture of members. Another thing that I have noticed, seniors are more active, wiser, and much more fun than in my folk’s time. I love the term “The Greatest Generation” that Tom Brokaw uses that define my parents perfectly. Then there is the term “Sandwich Generation”. Make me think of baloney, but it’s a close description.
I’ll keep thinking. Meanwhile, again I am using blogging as a coping tool. My other blog is the same, except it helps me cope with health issues. Read more here.
